title: Soft X-ray Irradiation of CO Ice: Effects of the Photon Energy and Flux authors: A. Ciaravella, Y.-J. Chen, C. Cecchi-Pestellini, A. Jimenez-Escobar, G. M. Munoz Caro abstract: Pure CO ices have been irradiated with soft X-rays of 300 and 550 eV and with a broad spectrum (250 - 1200 eV). The IR spectra of the ices during the irradiation show that the first outcomes of the irradiation are CO2 (2346 cm-1), C3O2 (2242 cm-1) and C3O(2247 cm-1). More complex species such as C4O2, C5O2, C7O2, C6 appear later. The dependence of the synthesis and growth of new species on photon energy and flux is discussed.
